Who’s behind Financial Impulse?
Hi there! My name is Joyce, and I’m a digital marketer and freelance writer who loves to write about—you guessed it—personal finance.
I’m a first-generation American who mostly grew up in a rural small town before moving to the suburbs in high school. My dad passed away when I was 21, after which I began taking a large role in managing my mom’s finances. This experience as well as reading about the dismal personal finance statistics in the U.S. inspired me to create Financial Impulse.
Don’t get me wrong—it’s not like I had a terrific understanding of money growing up. But the financial impact of losing a parent, plus dealing with debt after college, opened my eyes to the importance of financial literacy.
And knowing that many others find themselves in the same position, I wanted to create Financial Impulse as a resource and guide for those interested in getting a better grasp of their money.
It means a lot that you’ve taken the time to explore the site, so thanks for stopping by!
